Volunteer highlight: Big Apple Services participates in a day of giving at Camp Twin Lakes

This April, Big Apple Services took part in a special one-day volunteering event at Camp Twin Lakes, an immersive and adaptive camp experience for children and families living with disabilities, serious illness, and difficult life circumstances. As part of the volunteering day, the crew from Big Apple Services worked to fix, restore, and assist with important repair and clean-up efforts. 

Camp Twin Lakes serves the community by providing the children and their families who attend with adaptive and tailored camp experiences such as zip lining, rock wall climbing, horseback riding, nature trail walks, a wheelchair accessible treehouse, and stargazing. 

“One of Big Apple Services' core values is service. We believe it’s an important part of who we are as a company,” said Big Apple Services Co-CEO Josh Cagliani. “Going to Camp Twin Lakes and providing much needed work speaks to that value. Not only were we helping the thousands of children and families in desperate need of what camp provides, we also had the opportunity to expose our employees to the incredible feeling of volunteering and of the work at Camp Twin Lakes.” 

This past week, Big Apple Services employees had the opportunity to put their handy-man skills to good use in a variety of ways which included installing wheel stops and accessible parking signage, grading a pathway with wheelchair-friendly slate, installing drainage to avoid washout⁠s, building posts and digging holes for “little libraries”, and even cleaning cabins. 

"It's great to be able to give back, especially for such a great cause,” said Joey Hoffman, sales. “I love getting the chance to work alongside our amazing crews, and I got to show off my mad cabin-cleaning skills!" 

Our team is proud to have the opportunity to be a part of such an important organization with a meaningful purpose. We look forward to continuing to serve Camp Twin Lakes as volunteers in the coming years.
