Big Apple Services Awarded 2026 Superior Striper Award at PAVE/X

Our team has returned from an incredible week at PAVE/X 2026 in New Orleans with exciting news to share. In recognition of our work on the City of Decatur’s Bike Lane Initiative, Big Apple Services was honored with the 2026 Super Striper Award.

To improve safety in downtown Decatur, Big Apple Services was brought in to reconfigure a heavily traveled four-lane roadway into a safer, more efficient two-lane road with dedicated bike lanes on both sides. By collaborating closely with civil engineers and general contractors, our team successfully delivered a project that had already faced several years of delays before we stepped in.

The scope of work demanded both adaptability and precision. The project required a range of striping materials and application methods across both asphalt and concrete surfaces. Depending on location, color requirements, and durability needs, our team installed hot-applied thermoplastic, preformed thermoplastic, Rollplast MMA, and cold-spray MMA to ensure long-term performance and visibility.

With safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness at the forefront, Big Apple Services helped create a roadway design that better serves drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.
